OUR COMMITTEES

Political Action Committee

This Committee will be responsible for publicly informing lawmakers of the importance of the film industry, with an emphasis on job creation and other economic impact. This committee will also engage local municipalities, including Mayors, First Selectmen and Chambers of Commerce, and help bridge the gap between film and television production and the economic impact and development it could have in their communities. Additionally, this Committee will be addressing educational workforce job placement and general economic growth within the film entertainment industry in the state of Connecticut

Education Committee

This Committee will be solely responsible for working with all the major state and local, private and public universities, colleges, high schools, and trade schools in providing a bridge between education and the film and television industry, putting the focus on job creation, job development, and retention of students. This Committee will provide workshops, training, seminars, and other educational growth opportunities for the industry, while also furthering the goal of building a stronger and more sustainable workforce to support all aspects of the film and television industry in Connecticut.

Above the Line Committee

This Committee will be primarily responsible for developing, building, and maintaining a strong, creative talent force that covers, but is not limited to, casting, acting, writing, directing and the creative side of producing for film and television.

Below the Line Committee

This Committee will be responsible for building, developing, and maintaining a strong infrastructure of crew in all areas, including, but not limited to, camera, art direction, grip and electric, and full production support. This Committee will focus on building up the local crew base and creating more job opportunities by providing training and other avenues for career development and advancement.

Networking and Events Committee

Social Media: Focuses on outreach to raise awareness of the Alliance and engage the public and industry executives, led by the Social Media Coordinator and a Board Member.
Membership: Attracts and retains members, handles outreach, and collaborates with local and state Alliances to strengthen relationships within Connecticut’s entertainment industry.
Events: Organizes mixers, networking events, and fundraisers to support the Alliance's mission.
Fundraising: Raises funds through sponsorships, partnerships, and grants, managing finances for Alliance activities.
Film Festival & Cultural Awareness: Collaborates with film festivals, theaters, and arts programs to build connections and support cultural initiatives statewide.

Post Production Committee

This Committee will focus on Post-Production services, including: editing, special effects, sound design, delivery of assets and general post production. This Committee will build up businesses, vendors, and crew, while also providing education and development for job placement and training.

Music Committee: This Committee will be primarily responsible for developing, working with, and fostering opportunities in the film industry for composers, musicians, bands, sound recording artists, vocal artists, songwriters and the like. This Committee will focus on integrating music into film production, and developing opportunities for education, training and growth.
